This seminar will introduce students to advanced Trial Lawyers College cross-exam methods that empower trial lawyers to tell their clients' stories and learn to turn opposing witnesses from antagonists into witnesses whose testimony supports the case and helps to achieve justice.
This seminar teaches civil lawyers how to transfer death, pain, and loss into an adequate money award; and criminal defense lawyers how the client can win by an honest attack against dishonest cops and betraying prosecutors.
Indigent Representation Seminar
The Indigent Representation Seminar, open to criminal defense and civil lawyers alike, will be held at a different location once/year (pending Covid restrictions).
This course is by invitation only.

This seminar introduces students to the Trial Lawyers College method of jury selection. Learn how to identify the danger points in your cases, to re-frame them into points of power, and how to approach potential jurors as an inclusive, rather than exclusive process.
In every element of the trial we are telling the client’s story. At our direct exam seminar, you will learn how to tell that story in new, powerful and dramatic ways with your own witnesses. TLC’s direct exam methods help you find your voice to bring their story to life so that your jury actually experiences and becomes a part of your client’s case.
Pending CLE approval.

Taught by accomplished teams of TLC-trained trial lawyers, behavioral experts, and communications specialists, criminal defense attorneys will learn innovative Trial Lawyers College methods through on-the-feet action methods, not sitting and listening to lectures. Students will learn how to win the hearts and minds of their jurors, even against overwhelming odds. Hands-on, small group work on cases will make newly-learned methods readily accessible in the courtroom. If you want more general information about TLC and our courses, please click here.
This comprehensive 3-week program dissects courtroom procedures with painstaking detail to provide hands-on tools toward achieving justice. Trial skills are only part of being a force in the courtroom. The trial lawyers’ power originates from within. Knowledge of oneself gives the lawyer the capability to know others and to connect with each person in the courtroom including the witnesses, the judge, and the jurors. The power of TLC’s methods come alive through creative, spontaneous, outside-the-box innovations that capture juries and move them to justice. *Please note: Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. Admission decisions are made by the board at one time and notifications will be sent within a 6-weeks of the application deadline.
Graduate Courses, available only to TLC graduates, are intensive, one-week programs that focus on advanced trial skills, giving students a deeper understanding of TLC methods. Grad 1 teaches trial lawyers various communication and delivery skills, working on the entire horse, in addition to trial skills. Grad 2 teaches how to structure a case and trial story. *Graduate programs are by application only due to demand, with a mix of civil and criminal defense attorneys admitted.
