ABOUT

Our Closing Argument Seminar at Mo Ranch outside of Hunt, Texas on January 21-23, 2022 will teach civil trial lawyers how to transfer death, pain and loss into an adequate money award; and for the criminal defense lawyers, how your client can win by an honest attack against dishonest cops and betraying prosecutors.

Led by a faculty team of TLC-trained trial lawyers, and supported by TLC-trained psychodramatists [with at least a 6:1 student-faculty ratio], this course will be a “hands-on” experience where you will learn by doing, not suffering through endless lectures. You will discover how your unique power can deliver the winning closing argument in your most difficult cases to win justice for your client.

LOCATION

Nestled on 500-acres along the spring-fed Guadalupe River, Presbyterian Mo-Ranch Assembly is located in the heart of the beautiful Hill Country in Hunt, Texas.

FACULTY

All Trial Lawyers College courses are taught by graduates of the College, who volunteer their time, talents and resources to provide high-quality training not offered in any other CLE program. Because our faculty are volunteers, and are actively practicing in their respective firms, our faculty list is subject to change.

SCHEDULE

Course will begin at 8:00am on opening day and end by Noon on closing day. More details will be sent to registered students as the course nears.

IMPORTANT DETAILS

Proof of vaccination will be required for all participants (faculty & students) attending TLC’s in-person programs.

Indoor masking is required of all participants. Bring your own supply of face masks for travel and the duration of the course.

Course Materials & Prerequisites

“Several articles are available to read as a part of your course. Printed copies will not be provided to you. Download the TLC course materials on our website. Registration deadline is the Monday prior to the course start date unless the course is full prior to that. Applicant must be a member of their State Bar in good standing. Must also be a plaintiff’s lawyer, public defender, or a criminal defense lawyer. TLC does not offer training to attorneys who are an employee of a corporation, insurance firm or of the federal government (other than legal services or public defenders).”

Food, Lodging & Roommates

Proof of Covid-19 vaccination and indoor masking will be required. An email will be sent to registered attendees with course and venue information. All attendees are responsible for their own air and ground transportation arrangements and costs. At this small-format seminar, attendees will be responsible for their own lodging costs, and a link to the hotel reservation site will be provided by email.

REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS

The entire balance for a TLC course is due 90 days after the start date of the course unless other arrangements have been made with the Financial Officer. Any registrations made within 5 days of the start of the course must be paid in full at the time of registration. Tuition payments are only transferable to another TLC course within the same calendar year or to a substitute participant for the same course. Cancellations must be e-mailed to TLC’s Registrar: registrar@triallawyerscollege.org.

For all courses except Graduate I and Graduate II: Cancellations received at least 14 calendar days prior to the course will receive a full refund. Cancellations received 13 – 6 calendar days prior to the course will receive a 50% refund. We regret that no refunds can be made 5 days or less prior to the start date of the course.

Graduate I and Graduate II Course Cancellation Policy: As of 2019, both these courses will be by application, rather than by registration. Upon acceptance by TLC, all students must remit a $500 deposit at the time of submitting the application and is refundable only 60+ days prior to the course. Refunds will not be made for cancellations to Grad 1 or 2 within 59 days or less of the commencement of the program.
